Accounting Manager

A privately owned Real-Estate Investment and Management firm with residential and commercial properties throughout Missouri.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACCOUNTING

• Oversee corporate and site full cycle accounting, including accounts receivable, receipts, monitoring site deposit activity, working with site personnel to resolve deposit and payment issues, training of site personnel on system usage, new user setup etc.
• Monthly reconciliation of A/R system (General Ledger vs. A/R & A/P detail) - identify and resolve variances
• Prepare & post necessary journal entries to record monthly activity
• Review monthly statements for accuracy and process invoices for payment
• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (Accrual and Cash)
• Update all required schedules for maintaining the balance sheet, complete bank and accounts receivable reconciliations
• Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies including HUD backed financed projects
• Assist in preparation of initial drafts of internal and external financial reports
• In conjunction with a third-party accounting firm assist with document production for year-end audit and tax requirements, perform various A/R and A/P balance confirmation procedures, including cash receipt testing, customer balance confirmation statements, etc.
• Perform special projects and other department related duties as requested by the leadership team

FINANCIAL PLANNING

• Review monthly operating account statements
• Publish monthly financial reports
• Prepare monthly & year-end financial accounting reports and schedules (gains & losses, amortization, etc.)
• Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance
• Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic and/or business decisions
• Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis
• Prepare annual budgets for income, expenses, cash flow, and capital expenditures
• Special projects as requested by Leadership Team

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in, Accounting, CPA Preferred
• Knowledge of Real Estate, Property Management, and GAAP accounting principles and procedures
• 5+ years general accounting experience preferred
• Strong PC skills, Yardi property management software experience preferred, Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, a plus
• HUD financed projects accounting experience preferred

Pay: Position Salary will be established with consideration of - Education, Certifications, and Experience Compensation base salary starts at $90,000

Schedule:
• Salary Position
• Monday to Friday (with some weekend flexibility as needed based on accounting cycle and timing)
Must have a valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and automobile insurance as required by the State of Missouri. Travel is primarily local during the business day.
This is role is primarily in a central office or individual site office setting, and some remote work flexibility. Lite lifting may be required from time to time. Standard / common physical demands within an office environment required, such as the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
